When you wear rubber insulation, you feel safe handling electricity. When the knights of old wore heavy armor, they felt safe from the sword or lance. Their shield rendered the arrows harmless. When you and I go out into the workplace, there are all kinds of things hurled at our minds to cause us to fail. We need protection from the onslaught that is constantly taunting us.
You know the kind of thing I am speaking of; it is those nagging thoughts that tell you, you are not good enough or that your competitor will probably win the deal or you had better drop your price, if you hope to win the sale. There are thoughts of self-doubt, insecurity and failure; not all the time, but enough of the time that you need to do something about it. You must either retreat from that line of work and find something less challenging or put on the armor of God and take up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts the enemy throws at you.
I suggest you put on the armor of God. Equip yourself with the tools God makes available to every believer and give yourself an undeniable advantage in the workplace. Whenever self doubt or fear comes against you, replace them with God’s perspective. Adopt a perspective and attitude that makes no room for failure or fear to find their mark in your heart.
