Pastor/Board Chairman
James A. Williams
Pastor James was born in Virginia, and his wife Sarai in Puerto Rico. They met in college, and were married on Christmas Eve in 1989. They have 2 sons who are now married, and 4 grandchildren. They first came to SSA in 2018, and felt right at home from the beginning. Pastor says his favorite food is a big bowl of seasoned turnip greens with a piece of cornbread to sop up the juice, but his wife won’t let him cook it because she says it stinks up the house. Since his second favorite is Puerto Rican food it’s all good.

They are blessed with two sons, Derek and Donald Jr., and one daughter, LesleyAnn. We definitely can’t leave out their one grandson, “Prince.”Donald began attending SSA in 1996, and reports he has been hooked since. His favorite dish is fish palm oil stew and rice, but he also insures our men have a great breakfast each month.

Wayne Geohagan
Wayne came to America from Jamaica, and his wife, Wilhemina “Mina,” from Sierra Leone. Be sure to stop them sometime and have them share the story of how they met. Wayne came to SSA in 1995, and they were wed that same year. They have three children, two sons and a daughter. You’ll find their son, William, active in our youth ministry. Wayne’s favorite food is ackee and salt fish with bammy, but he won’t mind a side of Mina’s jollof as well.

Dormina Nyondo
Dormina and her husband Tobias came to America from Malawi in 2014. This year they will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. They have been blessed with two daughters, Lusayo and Thabang, and one son, Whitehead. On a Sunday morning while Dormina and Tobias were out of the country, their daughters searched for a church and stumbled on SSA. They say the experience was divine, as they then settled here proudly calling the church, “home.” Dormina says she’s not picky with food, but her family may disagree. She enjoys rice, beans, and “local” chicken which unfortunately cannot be found in MD. Maybe she needs to take all of us to Malawi to try some.
